Victim services & prevention
Crisis Line Response 24-hours a day, 7 days a week
A sexual assault support advocate trained in trauma response and crisis counseling is available to assist victims of sexual assault.
SANE Services
A specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will provide forensic exams for victims of all ages and forensic interviews and exams for victims 19 years of age and older. Also available: free clothing, prophylactic antibiotics to guard against STD exposure, pregnancy prevention, and testing for HIV and Hepatitis C exposure. SANE services are available for Cherokee, DeKalb, Etowah, and Marshall Counties.

Sexual Assault Advocacy
- Medical – SANE room accompaniment and information referral.
- Law Enforcement – Provides accompaniment to police interviews and acts as a liaison between victims and law enforcement.
- Criminal Justice – Courtroom accompaniment, assists with Victim Assistance Compensation claims and Victim Impact statements, provides emotional support for victims and their families throughout the judicial process.
- Personal – Assists victims in understanding and exercising their rights, offers life skills coaching, conducts support groups, and supplies victims and their families with referral information.
