April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month and we invite you to stand with us in the fight to protect children by becoming a Champion for Children!
Champions for Children is a fundraising initiative supporting Family Services of North Alabama, a non-profit dedicated to strengthening families and restoring hope through advocacy, education, and resource networking. Contributions to this campaign will directly impact two vital programs:
Champions for Children is a fundraising initiative supporting Family Services of North Alabama, a non-profit dedicated to strengthening families and restoring hope through advocacy, education, and resource networking. Contributions to this campaign will directly impact two vital programs:
- Victim Services & Prevention – Providing crisis support, advocacy, and prevention education to survivors of rape and human trafficking in Cherokee, DeKalb, Etowah, and Marshall Counties.
- Workforce Development & Education – Offering parenting and GED classes, job skills training, and career placement assistance to individuals in Blount, Cherokee, DeKalb, Etowah, Jackson, Marshall, and St. Clair Counties.

Fund Essential Services: Ensure survivors receive critical support, counseling, and advocacy.
- Expand Education & Workforce Programs: Help individuals gain skills to secure employment and build stable futures.
- Raise Awareness: Engage the community in conversations about child advocacy, prevention, and support.
Giving Tiers: Be a Champion for Children
1. Hope Giver - $100+
- Provides emergency support for survivors of violence.
- Helps fund parenting classes for families in need.
- Recognition in a donor appreciation newsletter.
- 1 Champion shirt.
2. advocate - $250+
- Funds one month of GED classes for a student.
- Supports trauma-informed training for service providers.
- Social media recognition.
- 2 Champion shirts.
3. Protector - $500+
- Covers the cost of one survivor’s emergency medical exam and advocacy services.
- Provides job skills training for individuals working toward self-sufficiency.
- Recognition on the Family Services of North Alabama website.
- 4 Champion shirts.
- 1 ticket to the Champions for Children annual recognition dinner.
4. Defender - $1,000+
- Supports the cost of legal advocacy for survivors navigating the justice system.
- Provides funding for a full semester of GED or job training courses for one individual.
- Recognition at Family Services events and in printed materials.
- 7 Champion shirts.
- 3 tickets to the Champions for Children annual recognition dinner.
5. Hero - $2,500+
- Funds a comprehensive prevention program in schools.
- Covers the cost of multiple survivors’ access to emergency housing, legal aid, and counseling.
- Logo placement (for businesses/churches) or special recognition on social media, the website, and event banners.
- 15 Champion shirts.
- 8 tickets (one table) to the Champions for Children annual recognition dinner.
6. Legacy Partner - $5,000+
- Helps expand programming into under-served areas.
- Provides funding for survivor support groups and extended workforce training.
- Exclusive sponsorship opportunities at major Family Services events.
- 25 Champion shirts.
- 16 tickets (two tables) to the Champions for Children annual recognition dinner.
